Hi. I was wondering if anyone has had problems with the new formulated Nature-throid? I am not feeling great at the moment and have had thryroid migraines which I haven't had for years. Just ordered more blood tests to check whats going on but I hope this isn't Armour all over again!

Yes. If you head over onto their fb page and look at the comments lots of us are having issues. My ft3 dropped from upper third in range (where I felt great) to barely within range. I've switched to Thai thiroyd x

I’m afraid so. I’m doing better on it again now (taking 1.5 grain tabs (2 of em)) but I had a few very ropey months while I was taking 1 grain tabs (3 of em). Haven’t had my blood tested recently though (probably should...)

This has come up a few times here now but so far we’ve not been able to narrow it down to the problem being a single dodgy batch.

Hi catlover i have been on nature throid now for 19 months and i must say that although when i first started taking it very slowly i did notice improvement as i had been bedridden with underactive thyroid problems..the last batch that i received in april have made me seriously think about going back on levothyroxine which i was on for 45 + years. It was the constant nausea that made me consult a private endo in the end ..not knowing that there were other brands of levo i could of tried which probably would of saved me a lot of money paying for endo and privately for nature throid...i have now all the symptoms back aching muscles nausea all day thyroid headache delicate tummy ...so i dont think nature throid are any good at aĺl i take 2 grains early morning on empty tummy wait 1hr before anything to eat and take 1 grain about 10pm before bed. After being a member of this forum with fantastic people who help you no matter what my vitamins are i hope now optimal and my gluten free diet is ongoing.

This morning i have just done a finger prick test from BH and i await my results not done a test since april so we will see how good these ndt tablets really are !!! I will be making an appt to see GP to go back on levo because you cannot rely on ndt..for me its not been my answer i hoped it would be...

Good luck to you on your journey

Thanks for your replies. It will be interesting to see what the bloods come back with! I can't go on levo. Last time I tried and ended up in A & E with a heart racing at 220bpm and it wouldn't slow down. Very scary! I only take 1 3/4 grains a day and have been fine but I really feel out of sorts at the moment. Having to go through the whole rigmarole of finding a suitable alternative is really depressing and not what I need at the moment. Fingers crossed.x

So these were my last 3 FT3 results. At the end of 2017 I felt fantastic but gradually began to feel old symptoms return in 2018...started having availability issues with nature throid in December so I'm positive there are issues with it. I should also say that in July I was on 4.5 grains! (4grains in October)

Oct 2017 - 5.43 (3.1-6.8)

April 2018 - 4.7 (3.5-6.5)

July 2018 - 3.54 (3.1-6.8)

Just got these results back. Looks to me that I need to increase to 2 grains a day.

Thyroid Function

THYROID STIMULATING HORMONE 1.93 mIU/L 0.27 - 4.20

FREE THYROXINE *11.500 pmol/L 12.00 - 22.00

FREE T3 4.77 pmol/L 3.10 - 6.80.

I know I feel better when my tsh is well below 1.

Yes! I’m just beginning to come out of the fog and figure out why I have been flattened and so symptomatic! I think it may have started after the last shortage and maybe the new pills that came on the market after the shortage was resolved. I don’t know but I’ve been barely functioning. If I hadn’t gone through the Amour crash I would not have thought about it and I’m so brain fogged it took a while! So far my pharmacist reports not knowing anything about it but I messsaged my endocrinologist and labs are ordered for this week! Thanks for your post let me know if you hear any more...I appreciate it!

Just received my latest results on 3 grains of Nature Throid. Having been more or less stable on 3 grains of Armour, Nature or Erfa for the last 9 years with TSH between 0.02 and 0.04 and FT3 between 4 and 5, I was shocked to see the latest results after the last year on Nature:

TSH 10.2

FT4 6.8

FT3 2.9

So there is definitely something very wrong with it. My consultant says I am not the only patient to report this - there are many.

Having struggled to get my thyroid numbers to behave on Levo, last Christmas a private doctor gave me a prescription for Nature Throid and told me to start on half a grain (my Levo dose was low). I had a terrible time. The first day I felt lovely. I could feel that T3 doing it's job. But from then on it was downhill all the way. Awful anxiety, the worst ever. Lifeless. Incapacitated. I just didn't understand it (I had used Armour for a time and WP Thyroid in the past and never experienced anything like this). I stuck it for 1 month in the hope it would "settle". It didn't. At the point I thought I might be going to die I went back to 25mcg Levo and felt instantly better. Still exhausted and lifeless, but better in myself. The anxiety reduced. Over the next few months I had to work my way back up the dosages. My hair fell out and I had no energy at all (still don't) but I felt better.

I thought it was something to do with the T3, which doesn't really make sense. But now I think that even though my Levo was only around 50/25 alternating, taking 1/2 grain of Nature Thryoid actually reduced my dose drastically and that was the real problem. Why else would I feel better on 25mcg of Levo when I switched back to it?

Trouble is, it's scared me off NDT and T3, although I probably need one of them now.

very interested about the changes made to nature throid..was on armour 1 grain (hair kept falling out) switched to NT and started going downhill slowly. Up went the tsh down went the t3. So went back on Tirosint 112 for a few weeks and now I reeealllly feel hypo. Thinking I do not convert t4 anymore to t3. Puffy, weight gain, etc. Soooo I refilled an old armour RX. My best thinking tells me the nature throid has changed and just didn't work as well as armour. Just kinda treating myself here as I've had it with doc's, especially endocrinologists who won't prescribe NDT. Had to get it from a nurse practitioner who really doesn't want to hear all of this. Rambling here but I am so frustrated. Anyone having issues with nature throid compared to armour these days ?
