I am on Nature-Throid and misread my dose how long does it take the medication to leave your system? And how long should I wait to restart my dose?

Nature-Throid
It might help if you put your dose quantity and how often you take it etc
Once a day 195mg is what I was taking. I was suppose to be taking 97.5 mg.
Sounds like a difficult mistake to make. How long have you been taking the higher dose? How do you feel?
No I haven't experienced any of those symptoms. The only symptoms I seem to have are irritability or mood swings.
Hi
I too use Nature-Throid.
The symptoms i had after i took an "overdose" for a few weeks were: Hot flushes, shortness of breath if I exerted myself, gritty eyes and occasionally my heart rate would increase with a feeling of uneasiness.
You don't have to wait any length of time to restart your normal dosage, start taking it straight away it won't do any harm.
Keep a diary of how you feel and if you notice any changes in your health. It may just be that you need an increased dosage! Are you self medicating or under a doc, wait a couple of weeks and have a blood test if you still feel uneasy.
Hope this helps

Interesting! I have also had a feeling of uneasiness for the last couple of weeks, and my labs just came back showing FT4 levels above midrange and FT3 levels seriously out of range, indicating I need to cut back on NDT. I have been wondering where this feeling comes from, as it appeared seemingly out of nowhere, but I never made the connection to thyroid hormone replacement...I just love how you learn things here all the time!
T3 most definitely doesn't have a four hour life. Its effective half-life in the blood also depends on various factors. A typical period for half-life is quoted at 24 hours.
T4 is typically quoted with a half-life of about a week. Again affected by various factors.
In both cases, the ongoing effects of the substance continue after it has been removed from the bloodstream. A cell that takes in T3 continues to be affected by that T3 for some time - difficult to give any useful figures but I'd suggest two or three days in some cells.
T3 may have a 'short life' but the effect on our receptor cells lasts between one and three days. I can vouch for that.
