Help with blood test results

I am currently under an endo and taking 150mcg of Levo. Recently had blood test & she’s asked me to reduce my Levo to 125mcg now. What do you think anyone can shed some light or in agreement with her?

TSH 0.22 (0.40-5.00)

T4 19.4. (9.00-19.00)

Ferritin. 43 (15.00-200.00)

B12. 280. (150.00-620.00)

Folate 3. (3.10-19.90)

Apparently I have a prescription of b12 & folate left at the pharmacy to pick up.

Thank you.

Refuse to reduce until she's tested your FT3. You're only over-medicated if your FT3 is over-range. How do you feel on that dose, anyway? Do you know how well you're converting your levo to T3?

Good that she's prescribing B12, but what type, and how much? Your ferritin needs some attention, too. :)

She actually did tell me over the phone what my FT3 was but didn’t get chance to write it down. I will post results in here when they come through the post. I feel tired constantly and have terrible plantar in both feet. Apart from her telling me it seems like I am converting I wouldn’t know how to tell myself. It will probably be cynacobalamin prescribed which I won’t take. I have jarrows that dissolve here so I’ll take them instead.

I doubt she would know if you're converting! They rarely do. To know how well you convert, you compare the FT4 with the FT3. They should be more or less equal in their respective ranges - around 75%. But, if your FT4 is 75% of the way through the range, and your FT3 only 25%, then you know you have poor conversion. And, I've never met a doctor good at maths!

Hi GG. After weeks of waiting the results arrived today can you please tell me what you think about them regarding me converting and the endo reducing my dose.

TSH O.23

FT4 20 (9-19)

FT3 3.82 (2.89-4.88)

Thank you

You're conversion is very poor. Your FT4 is over-range, but your FT3 is only just mid-range. Your endo was right to reduce your dose, but he should have added in some T3. He obviously doesn't understand about conversion.

Thank you for response. Maybe I could add some t3 myself as I don’t fancy my chances trying to explain something to the endo that I’m not sure about myself. X

Yes, certainly you could. But, what don't you understand? Maybe I didn't explain very clearly. :)
