The main question is 'how do you feel' and if answer is much better, then the NDT suits you.

You must also realise that when we take NDT it contains T4, T3, (T2, T1 and calcitonin) the latter three in smaller amounts. So your blood test will differ from when you took T4 alone. If on NDT you can add 1/4 tablet every two weeks, until you are symptom-free and feel well. Take pulse/temp several times a day and if either goes too high, reduce to previous dose and that should be fine for you.

It's perfectly normal for the FT4 to drop when we start taking T3. Even if we're still taking the same amount of T4. The FT3 level depends on how much you are taking. 2 grains of NDT only contains 18 mcg T3, which is quite a small amount. If you've been taking that for four weeks, I would suggest you try increasing your dose by 1/4 grain, and see if you feel any better. :)
