Right I have just been to see my new doctors here in Northern Ireland, after living in France for the past 28 years, what a shock to the system! Anyway have managed to get a blood test including T3 to be done this Friday, couldn’t get over the fact I won’t have the results for two weeks and have to go to the doctors for them. In France it was always in 24 hours and sent to me! Anyway that’s not my problem, I am on l-thyroxin henning, in which the doctor stated can’t get here, to which I replied that if she gave me a prescription then I would pay for them myself from Germany, but need the prescription to do so! Shock horror she stated she can’t do that so is refering me to an Endio, who will probably put me back on Levethyroxin which I had become ill on. What I’d like to know - is this correct that she can’t give me a prescription ?

l-thyroxin henning
What to do is to put up a fresh post asking where you can source l-thyroxin henning. Some members might know and buy your own.
The blood tests for thyroid hormones have to be at the very earliest, TSH is highest then and that's all the medical professiona seems to look at. TSH and T4 is about the max that's tested. Also allow a 24 hour gap between last dose and the test and take afterwards.
You need TSH, T4, T3, Free T4, Free T3 and thyroid antibodies.
The ones your doctor will not do, you can get your own through a private lab if you wish.
If she gives you a prescription she may have to take some responsibility I assume if you become unwell.
If someone who lives in Ireland reads your post they may have information they can send to you by Private Message.
Of course she can give you prescription.for pretty much anything. She's got licence (I presume if she's hired by the surgery) to do so.
She's just doesn't want to.
