Where to get L-Thyroxin Henning now Bennewitz wont sell it? Roseway labs have quoted £1000 :(

Hi all,

Does anyone know where I can get L-Thyroxin Henning on a private prescription please? I used to buy it from Bennewitz but can't now because of Brexit. I have tried Roseway labs as suggested on here but they are saying that the 75mcg that I need doesn't exist (it does) and they would have to supply a 25 and a 50, meaning that the price is £1000 for a years supply.

Does anyone have any alternatives?

Try ringing round some of the others from the ThyroidUK pharmacy list. You may get a better price if it's all 25s or all 50s (+pill cutter). Looking for Armour recently I was quoted some silly prices. For example my prescription said 1 and a half grains daily, so they quoted for 1.5grain tablets. As I split my dose I need 1 grain and 0.5 grain, so having to split 1.5 grain is not much use to me. Also Armour is cheapest in the 1 grain size.

No idea what price but £1000 is crazy.

Afraid not.

I suspect two directions are most likely:

The big chains which will undoubtedly have an arm which is appropriately licensed and skilled to do such ordering. Might well be that you could call a branch and they would pass it up the chain for an answer.

Small, independent pharmacies run by someone bright who knows what they are doing.

Maybe a long session calling/emailing pharmacies...

I have been in touch with Sanofi who have said they have no info on what pharmacies can supply it, so emailing and calling I think is the way to go
