Salty lips ?

I think this is probably an odd question, any ideas why my lips should taste so salty ?

This is most of the time so not food or drink related 🤔

Given the current heat..

- it could be due to sweat from your face

- you say it isn’t drink-related, but have you been drinking enough ?

Ive had salty lips for a few weeks, so I doubt it’s just the weather, I drink pints of water daily too - so it’s a bit of a puzzle 🤔

Are you taking any medication?

Thyroid meds and supplements get to work being broken down by the liver. I had a continuous salty taste in my mouth and was super thirsty all the time when I was taking a thyroid supplement. I only took it for a week and stopped. I then google hepatic function and thyroid. Have a go and see what you find...

I can’t believe just how many symptoms- however small - are linked to thyroid function!

I’ve still much to read & learn !

Hello Anniewoz1 , I have the same problem . I have a constant salty taste on my lips and I don’t have any medical problems .

Did you manage to establish what was causing your lip saltiness and did it resolve itself ? Many thanks .
