For the last month I've had very dry chapped lips for no reason and thinking this could be thyroid related, has anyone else experienced this?

I have suffered from this but couldn’t say if it was connected to thyroid or not. Best thing to clear it up is lanolin nipple cream. My lips were so bad they kept bleeding randomly and quite severely at times. This cleared it right up. I used the Lansinoh make from Boots. It’s probably available from other chemists too. It was their recommendation.

Thank you, I have used that before and forgot about it.

Have you had your nutrients checked ? You might be deficient in one or more vitamins .

I was very low in ferritin and I'm under medicated so was wondering it it was connected. Thank you for you response.

I'm not aware if Iron plays a roll in this . But the B-vitamins and some fish oil would be helpful drinking enough water too to keep hydrated .

I take 3 -1200 mg fish oil a day and drink a lot of water. Did start taking new supplements (grass fed beef liver, thyroid and marrow) wondering if it could be the cause seems to of started then.

That can be very possible . It might not agree with you . It might have something in it that you might be allergic to .

Have you changed your brand of toothpaste or mouthwash, or started using products intended to help with mouth ulcers or gingivitis or other health problems in recent months?

I get severely dry lips from some products. One I had issues with is Difflam, a medicated mouthwash I was using for severe ulcers.

The problem was that I am intolerant rather than allergic to the stuff. It took a long time (about two - three months) for me to react, and once I stopped using it it took weeks for my lips to repair themselves. So the first time I stopped using it I decided it wasn't the culprit because there was almost no obvious change after a few days and went back to it. I did eventually realise - but not before I had done some severe damage to my lips.

I did change to a natural mouthwash after my dentist appointment last month but my lips were chapped then cuz they mentioned it so it can't be that. It's just a really long time to have chapped lips so it has to be linked to something I've started taking. Maybe need to stop all supplements I started back then and add one at a time. Thanks for your response.
