My niece taking roaccutane help on what to use for very dry lips
My son used Roaccutane over twenty years ago. It was amazingly successful but I know what you mean about dry lips. I can’t remember but I’m pretty sure he just used regular over the counter lipsalve. Even though it was a long time ago I think he still uses lipsalve. It wasn’t just his lips that flaked I remember his scalp flaking like big flakes of dandruff.
I’ve used this stuff in the past - I bought it first in France but I think you can get it in the UK laroche-posay.com/products-...
I remember that my son felt the cold dreadfully back then and still does and I think that was linked to his treatment. In spite of those aspects of his treatment it was well worth it for him because he was quite a shy boy and his acne was ruining his life.
PS - just spoken to him, he said he used Vaseline and he also used it up his nose which got very dry too.
Yes! Vaseline... And drink LOADS of water. I was on this in my 40's, absolute miracle drug. The dryness not good, but worth it in the end
It is truly a miracle drug. His acne made his life miserable I was going to say at an age when it shouldn’t have but there is no good age to have acne. I think it must have been a ‘new’ drug when he was on it, we saw a private dermatologist and I remember having to go to a ‘special’ pharmacy to collect it.
The only thing that I've found that works consistently on dry lips is pure Lanolin. It can be expensive but a little goes a long way. The tube that you can buy in the pharmacy for breastfeeding mothers is ideal as it contains no harmful chemicals. It also works out cheaper than the small tube intended for dry lips.
Thanks this is helpful much appreciated
