anyone else had this at all? I have had it previously and it was down to Migraine. I had a slight headache when I woke up but not major... hope its not linked to Levo as im feeling much better on it after 4 weeks (25mcg)
Still feeling better but had pins and needles i... - Thyroid UK
Still feeling better but had pins and needles in my lips/tongue/hands & Feet last 24 hours?

I am glad you're feeling much better. I hope your GP told you to have another thyroid gland blood test in 6 weeks so that he can increase your dose. 25mcg is extremely small and should be gradually increased till you feel better. Always get a copy of your blood test results, with the ranges, and post on a new question if you have a query.
If you haven't already had a Vitamin B12, Vit D,iron, ferritin and folate, ask for these to be done too.
I am not sure about the pins/needles but you may need an increase in meds so make an appointment for another blood test and consultation.
when this happens to me I know it is down to me having low calcium. I know there can be other causes as well such as what shaw said but also low potssium and other elecrtrolyte imbalance can cause it. It is not good to leave an electrolyte imbalance for long (if that is what it is) so I suggest you tell your GP ASAP. I dont think it it likely to have anything to do with levo.

Agree - check calcium - symptoms in lips/tongue are what they tell you to watch out for if you have had a Thyroid op (poss parathyroid if that case) if generally all over it's more likely to be low B12, low Vit D can contribute too.... J
.....possible gluten sensitivity ? Mentioned on the Gluten Summit on-line recently !.....
I get pins and needles when hypo and for me its a sign that I need an increase. Time to go back fo another thyroid test? X
Thanks for the replys so far.... x
I went to see my spine consultant because of pains in my legs when laying down, pins n needles in hands and feet. Was told it is possibly a electrolyte imbalance. Waiting now to see another doctor. No blood tests been done as yet. My thyroid was fine last time it was checked and im not a diabetic. I do have problems with ferritin levels could this be the imbalance?
I haven't had it again which is good and still feeling better on Levo. Im not taking B12 so maybe that has helped too... thanks x
