High cortisol=causing high antibodies?

Hi

I had recent thyroid bloods. As usual my T3 is scrapping at the bottom of the normal range and my free T4 is high (i.e. poor conversion). I had my cortisol tested and it is 3 times the top end of the range! Have an 11 month old (that i am breastfeeding), a 3.5 year old and a new house. TPO is generally 800 to 1000. Havent had it tested this time but it occurred to me (I have always had some adrenal issues)..do these issues also cause the higher TPOs? As i understand, cortisol blocks T4 conversion to t3 too which explains why I have this as an issue now. Anything I can do to heal my adrenals to help? Thanks

If your cortisol is that high, you need to be tested for Cushing's Disease.

But, no, high antibodies are not caused by high cortisol. They mean you have Hashimoto's Thyroiditis, the most common cause of hypo. And, once you've had a high results, there's really no need to test again, because it's not going to go away. Did you not know you had Hashi's?

This is the same thing that is happening with me! I am in the process of trying to get a ACTH cortisol test, but I am having the same problem. My T3 is really low and my body is not converting the T4. When prescribed Cytomel 5mg, I started having a bad reaction to it, so the doctor discontinued the T3 and would not add another one. This response gives me some insight to my problem as well. I am also having bradycardia, severe night sweats, severe hot flashes, hyperpigmentation, large stomach, brain fog and my resting pulse is 44! Sorry to hijack someone else's question. Thank you.

Do you know the numbers for your cortisol levels & what time of day it was done? If it is that high then you need further testing to find out the cause of your high cortisol.

You could do to have your dhea tested too otherwise you’ve only half a picture.

Did you have the saliva cortisol test 4 times in the day? Also do you have the results?

Ashwaganda and holy basil help the high cortisol.

You should be charting your temps( see Dr Rind or the other link I gave you- search under orchestra it’s the best article I’ve read in a long time! )

Hi Howard. Thanks. Holy basil and ashwahganda are great. Had stopped using them about 2 months ago and then had the blood results..obviously still need them. Hadn't heard you need dhea too..will investigate. I know I should be getting the saliva test rather than only blood for cortisol...so result could be worse or better. I don't have massive symptoms..some tiredness, but persistent thirst, dry throat and feeling like a lump is in my throat when i swallow..and still with the constipation.
