AM cortisol high / how to interpret results

I have Hashimotos and hypothyroidism. I had my AM cortisol tested as I think I may have adrenaline fatigue or something ontop of my low thryroid levels.

My AM result came in as:

21.8 and the nurse called me and said this was completely normal however I looked online and see that this is high according to some doctors.

Has anyone else had this test done? What does a High cortisol number mean? Is my number high or normal?

These are my numbers:

THYROGLOBULIN ANTIBODIES5 H

THYROID PEROXIDASE ANTIBODIES130 H

T4, FREE1.9 H

TSH0.12 L

T3, TOTAL106

T3 REVERSE, 5 L

"What does a High cortisol number mean? Is my number high or normal?"

Unfortunately, as you haven't given the reference ranges, it's not possible to answer your question.

So the range was 4.0 - 22.0 and my am result taken at 8:50AM Was 21.8 which is technically in range. However I don't know how conclusive that is or if that truly is high... it's basically 22.0 which would put it out of range.

If your cortisol result was 21.8 with a reference range of 10 - 30, then your result would be mid-range.

If the reference range was 5 - 15 then your result would be high.

If the reference range was 25 - 40 then your result would be low.

The reference range is essential for anyone who wants to make sense of blood test results. And people can't just pick any random reference range that they find on the web, they have to use the reference range supplied by the lab who performed the test.

It's very common for people not to be supplied with reference ranges. But results are absolutely useless without them.

EDIT: Range was 4.0 - 22.0

My result was 21.8 so almost 22.

Test taken at 8:50AM
