Can you please add the reference ranges for your results. Ranges vary from lab to lab so we need your lab's ranges to interpret your results.

It would also be useful to tell us how you feel on that dose.

Your TSH is very low and will probably freak out your endo. However as it is a signal from the pituitary for the thyroid to release hormone if too little is detected, it's obviously detecting your Levo so has no need to release TSH therefore it is low.

It's impossible to comment on your FT4 because ranges vary so much, my lab's range is 7-17, we also see here 9-19, 12-22 and others.

Your FT3 is bound to be low going by the usual ranges we see here. That will be causing your symptoms. You may benefit from the addition of T3 but whether your Levo needs reducing depends on where it is in it's range.

Thank you for reply. I have asked him for t3 but he wants me to ha e znother blood test in 8 weeks. He is considering dropping it to 137.5 alternating with 150. I wish tbey would get itright as still not losing tbe massive amount of weivht i have gaind x

Don't agree to a reduction in Levo unless you have the reference ranges to go along with your results. You can only be overmedicated if your FT3 is above range.

If your FT4 is near the top of range and FT3 near the bottom, ask for a trial of T3.

Okay i will ask him. I find they just dont listen though and make decisions themselves. I am fed up with them keep changing my dosage and i end up poorly again x

Do you have Hashimoto's also called autoimmune thyroid disease diagnosed by high thyroid antibodies? Have you had both TPO and TG antibodies tested

What about vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 levels

Add results and ranges if you have them

Low vitamins can significantly affect Thyroi

You are legally entitled to printed copies of your blood test results and the ranges

UK GP practices are supposed to offer online access for blood test results. Ring and ask if this is available and apply to do so if possible, if it is you may need enhanced access to see blood results.

In reality many GP surgeries do not have blood test results online yet

Alternatively ring receptionist and request printed copies of results. Allow couple of days and then go and pick up. They can make nominal charge for printing but many will do so for free (£10 max and can not charge at all after May 25th 2018 - that was yesterday)

As SeasideSusie says....your FT3 looks low but you need range to be certain

Dr Toft, past president of the British Thyroid Association and leading endocrinologist, states in Pulse Magazine,

"The appropriate dose of levothyroxine is that which restores euthyroidism and serum TSH to the lower part of the reference range - 0.2-0.5mU/l.

In this case, free thyroxine is likely to be in the upper part of its reference range or even slightly elevated – 18-22pmol/l.

Most patients will feel well in that circumstance. But some need a higher dose of levothyroxine to suppress serum TSH and then the serum-free T4 concentration will be elevated at around 24-28pmol/l.

This 'exogenous subclinical hyperthyroidism' is not dangerous as long as serum T3 is unequivocally normal – that is, serum total around T3 1.7nmol/l (reference range 1.0-2.2nmol/l)."

You don't want Levo dropped at all unless they are going to add T3, even then wouldn't want Levo dropped by much.

Thank you for this information and i will certainly be speaking to him at my next appointment i will ask for everything to be checked as well x
