Very hard to read the snapshot - but from what I can see, TSH way too high, free Ts too low… including T4.

Why intro T3 at this point?

You have room for more T4, especially since you are only on 75 mcgs at this point.

Haven’t looked at any previous posts.

Suggest you increase levothyroxine

FT4: 12 pmol/l (Range 9 - 23)

Ft4 only 21.43% through range

How much do you weigh in kilo

75mcg is only one step up from standard starter dose

Retest again in 8 weeks

Can’t read folate or B12 results

No ferritin or vitamin D results?

I am now about 84 kg was 64😩. I’ve just got them to increase dose to 100 meander rang up to. Complain about no further required so now also hv appointment for potential b12 injection as I already take b12daily. I am veggie but introduced chicken a while ago and eat seafood and some pulses. I don’t eat soya or kidney beans as they make me ill. Folate 4.2((3.3-99,000), ferritin 34ng/ml30-400),b12182 (190-910) vit d 57nmol 50-99,999,

Down to you to self supplement to maintain OPTIMAL vitamin levels

Vitamin D at least around 100nmol

B12 over 500

Ferritin over 70

Folate at top of range

Only add one supplement at a time

Wait 2 weeks to assess before adding another

Starting with vitamin D

Then B12

Then folate with daily vitamin B complex

Then magnesium

Retest 8 weeks after adding last supplement

Meanwhile get full iron panel test for anaemia

You will need to significantly increase iron rich foods in your diet

thank you as always. So grateful for your input 😍

Looking at previous posts you usually have very low ferritin and iron

And B12 has been deficient in past

What vitamin supplements are you taking

Many Hashimoto’s patients need yo supplement vitamin D, magnesium, vitamin B complex daily continuously

Some, initially or if vegetarian or vegan also need separate B12 daily too

And many need ongoing iron, especially when under medicated as you currently are

Are you on strict gluten free diet and/or dairy free diet

I'll pick up the other bits...

B12 is deficient at 182 (190-910) so presumably your GP has picked up on this and prescribed?

Also folate at 4.2 (>3) is dire

I'd imagine you are feeling less than chipper?

Looking back at your last post you were also deficient in ferritin have you had a full iron panel?

I'm not sure about your idea of adding T3 back in? You really need to get you T4 up to a full replacement dose and sort out your vits and mins to see how well you convert... I can see why you'd want to add T3 now but it is just masking the other deficiencies 🙃

gp picked up on nothing, but I’ve sorted it so increased levo an extra 25 mg and appointment fir potential b12 injection . I’m also booked in for an ecg ?ive not added an t3.

They are hopeless aren't they 😟

"Folate 4.2((3.3-99,000), ferritin 34ng/ml30-400),b12182 (190-910) vit d 57nmol 50-99,999,"

Have you been tested for intrinsic factor for B12? May be why the supplements aren't working? I do find the sublingual works better

Your Vit D results are shocking too! Ideally around 125, get one with K2 -MK7

and ferritin close to anaemic

they say everything else is fine 😩😩😩😩😩😩. I’m so. Grateful as always I so value your and slow dragons opinions. I’ve said before about being anaemia and the say I’m fine 🥴🤢. Sneaking into range the ignore and over ad under they ignore. Basically I don’t know why we hv blood tests. Thank god I read my own notes.

Many do well on Three Arrows... though obviously not vegetarian.... healthunlocked.com/thyroidu...

Maybe try Iron Bisglycinate as it is easier on the stomach... though you really need to request a full iron panel first to check it isn't high 🤗

It is remarkable how they depend on bloods so heavily to punish us when it's thyroid results but having below range vits and mins are absolutely fine to ignore! 😠

She’s vegetarian, so low B12 expected

She says she has been taking B12 daily so something is amiss?

So that one only contains methylcobalamin... might be methyl doesn't agree with you which is a thing involving genetics... I've never got my head around it but a few people need to avoid methyl vit's and min's for them to work...

Perhaps time to ask SlowDragon 🙏

the ECG threw me I’m having it in a week. But after looking at my b12 And other deficiencies it can show issues with the heart you e. My dad died of a heart attack at 67 and had angina for years, it’s all in my notes, so I’ve no idea why I haven’t had one before now.

Lets hope you can have a decent conversation with someone useful once the results are in... if not you are stuck with us 🤗

I think the chances of that are slim to nonexistent 🤣😩. Im more than happy to be stuck with you. This site is my only form of sanity in all of this. I’m so. Grateful , just wish you could prescribe …….thenI’d be ecstatic 🤣🤣❤️

You really need to get all four vitamins to optimal levels while on JUST Levo

Your Ft4 is far too low showing you need increase in Levo first

B12 deficient and folate inadequate

Are you vegetarian or vegan?

Low B12 symptoms

b12deficiency.info/signs-an...

methyl-life.com/blogs/defic...

Has GP tested for Pernicious Anaemia if not, insist they do BEFORE starting B12 supplements or quite likely you need B12 injections prescribed

And 7-10 days after starting B12 add daily vitamin B complex

So once you have been tested, if your GP doesn’t start B12 injections

With serum B12 result below 500, (Or active B12 below 70) recommended to be taking a separate B12 supplement and a week later add a separate vitamin B Complex

Then once your serum B12 is over 500 (or Active B12 level has reached 70), you may be able to reduce then stop the B12 and just carry on with the B Complex.

If Vegetarian or vegan likely to need ongoing separate B12 few times a week

Highly effective B12 drops

Or

B12 sublingual lozenges

cytoplan.co.uk/shop-by-prod...

B12 range in U.K. is too wide

Interesting that in this research B12 below 400 is considered inadequate

healthunlocked.com/thyroidu...

Low folate

supplementing a good quality daily vitamin B complex, one with folate in (not folic acid)

This can help keep all B vitamins in balance and will help improve B12 levels too

Difference between folate and folic acid

Many Hashimoto’s patients have MTHFR gene variation and can have trouble processing folic acid.

B vitamins best taken after breakfast

Thorne Basic B recommended vitamin B complex that contains folate, but they are large capsules. (You can tip powder out if can’t swallow capsule)

Thorne currently difficult to find at reasonable price, should be around £20-£25. iherb.com often have in stock. Or try ebay

Igennus B complex popular option too. Nice small tablets. Most people only find they need one per day. But a few people find it’s not high enough dose

IMPORTANT......If you are taking vitamin B complex, or any supplements containing biotin, remember to stop these 7 days before ALL BLOOD TESTS , as biotin can falsely affect test results

endo.confex.com/endo/2016en...

endocrinenews.endocrine.org...

In week before blood test, when you stop vitamin B complex, you might want to consider taking a separate folate supplement (eg Jarrow methyl folate 400mcg) and continue separate B12 until over 500

Hi

just read everyones posts and great advice. I am hypo and have hashimotos. From my own experience (I was a vegetarian for 28 years until I started having dizzy spells and went to doc). I had such low ferritin it also caused palpitations etc. As well as supplements IF you can bring yourself to have a bit more heme iron (which comes sadly from animals BUT absorbs better) it will help. Only as a last resort as i totally understand the issues surrounding animals, but no amount of spinach etc absorbed in my body to boost the ferritin for me. BUT when have occasional bit of meat i notice the difference immediately. Anyway just sharing my experience. Good luck with it.. x
