I just want to thank everyone who has given me advice and encouragement to obtain a diagnosis. I have just been placed on a trial of 50mg Levothyroxine ?? Per day. I would have pursued if I hadn’t found this forum. I hope I feel better soon. ❤️👍🏼

Hope you have booked a blood test appointment for six/eight weeks hence - so your dose can be adjusted. 😊

Good luck !

I am sure you know how to take your dose: either when you awake with one full glass of water and wait an hour before eating.

Or at bedtime if you prefer as long as stomach is empty (about 3 hours after eating protein meal) with one full glass of water.

If having a blood test next a.m. you miss bedtime dose and take after test and you can take it again at bedtime on the same day.

Absolutely essential to test B12 and folate

Your post a month ago about tinnitus

healthunlocked.com/thyroidu...

Low vitamin B12 is common when hypothyroid and linked to tinnitus

Has GP done this? Also vitamin D an ferritin

If not, make another appointment and request they are done

Alternatively you need to get tested privately

The GP did say I needed to boost my vit D and folate. So prescribed them for 3 months.

B12 not checked.

Serum ferritin level 46.6 ug/L [30.0 - 400.0] so just in the normal range.

B12 should be tested, especially if folate is low

Are you sure B12 not been tested

Folate supplements should not be started if B12 is too low, B12 should be treated first.

Private testing

Ferritin is too low, needs to be around 70. Eating liver once a week should help improve.

B12 definitely not checked. I can’t afford another private test so will as my go when I go back.
