EPISODE 8
CANCER & ALZHEIMER'S:
How Centenarians Avoid Diseases of Aging
Thanks for posting these 😀
I found this episode particularly interesting and relevant.
Hope to catch one that I missed if they do a final recap.
Thanks, Solstice, I really wanted to point out that everyone should see this one if none of the others. I had no idea how much your mitochondria was the center of the universe. They did hit on that in Broken Brain. Feed your mitochondria and exercise.
I missed some of the broken brain, so am really pleased to have watched this episode. Mitochondria health underpins everything - I had little idea of the extent. More reading....
I'm much improved (touch wood) and though pretty active I now have a reason to slowly extend to more exercise.
As an aside, I had reason to get a cortisol and hormone profile as I was sluggish in the morning despite thyroid being good. I needed more protein at breakfast and it has made a huge difference to me through the day. So many seemingly tiny interventions have significant impact. It was interesting to see how the progesterone cream and estriol had improved levels.
I think I did some summaries when the Broken Brain Series ran and posted them here. It was interesting that the boy with traumatic brain injury was given large doses of progesterone. I know the adrenals need cholesterol to make it so it is related to adrenal function. So we can certainly have low levels when we are ill.
Exercise will help oxygenate the brain and lots of bioflavenoids and good fats. Dr. Kharazzian brought that out in Broken Brain and also anemia is bad. He recommended the special B12 test, not the ordinary one.
Glad to hear you are making progress. I just looked back and had TSH over 2.0 for a couple of years. No wonder I didn't do well.
I will search that out and have a read. So much still to learn but everything is helpful.
Good to hear you are good too 😚
