Next episode of the Great British Bake Off, they bake 'without sugar, gluten or dairy'. Now they'll find out what we are up against. Should be amusing.

Now, if only they could do something without gluten, sugar AND high carb ingredients, I'd be there like a shot!

I don't know what you're fussing about, for Heaven's sake. Woman-up! What on earth is wrong with cardboard? A little bit of butter - or even better, organic coconut oil, sprinkled with dried pea protein - what more could you ask for? Apart from a noose, maybe.

With a wheat allergy AND prediabetes controlled only by a low carb intake, I can't eat most cakes and breads without the risk of a full-scale pancreatic meltdown... :(

I know the problem - cardboard is all that's left to us. Don't try Kelloggs cornflake packets!

I make a great chocolate cake.... No sugar, flour or carbs... Though its high fat... I'm not at home at the moment. So its from memory..... 4 tablespoons ground almonds, half a teaspoon of baking powder. 2 tablespoons cocoa powder, 2 tablespoons sweetner, 2Tablespoons of melted butter and 2 of water, all mixed together with an egg. Mix it up, stick it in the microwave for 2 mins and eat hot with cream

Yum.. I make it in small pate containers, theres just enough for 2 containers and enough for 2 people.

Only just got this, kiddo - Windows *+$@% 10!! Thanks. what do you use if you don't have a microwave? (Keep it clean!) I mean, any idea on temps and time? And what sweetener do you use?

No microwave? Maybe 10 mins in an oven same as for sponge cake? I use a granulated sweetner for cooking, in a jar. Asda own brand or whatever is on offer. Or sometimes i just use sugar instead and damn the torpedoes!

I won't. However... if you want some really fab sugar-free, low carb fun I recommend heading on over to alldayidreamaboutfood.com as it's really a wonderful resource for baking with almond flour.

I didn't know you had left a reply, hose - not notified, sorry. Thank you SO much for this link - I'e got a feeling I'm going to be on there A LOT. I'm just gearing up to go Paleo for immune system problems, so this is going to be a godsend.
