Thank you for bringing this to us Heloise. Easy listening yet a profound message. Lots of interesting information about the changing face of gluten and how being geographically close to our food production helps to ensure we stay in control and avoid pesticide, fungicide and processing. Many of us think our standard of living and lifestyles are so much better and more refined than our forefathers but think again. There simpler lifestyles were so much more in control of their diets. I rejoiced in watching the three elderly brothers in their 90s who continued to be active and enjoy life ....... Wonderful! Not wanting to body shame but I couldn’t help notice how many of the functional practitioners interviewed, appeared a little on the chunky side.

Hi Baobabs, I have been extremely impressed with this series. They know much more than I realized and the truth is as mentioned in today's episode, it's not really an aging process, it's what happens when you don't have an optimal environment and undamaged DNA. So if we can change all that......:) Obviously the doctors suffer as well. I just don't how we can rectify most of it without foraging for our food and living in one of those globes. Whatever happened with that experiment which I can't seem to remember exactly? Anyway, it's fascinating to know what is happening to us even if there is little that we can do about it. Although maybe we can, I'll keep watching.

Heloise, it terrifies me when I think of how out of control we are regarding our food production. Also so many folk seem oblivious as to what constitutes a good diet. We are lulled into thinking fast food is attractive. I teach young children and their snack and lunch boxes shock me to the core. No hand prepared fresh food. I ask myself how is there not more disease in the world? Sometimes I think that whilst we are focusing on plastic contamination in the world we become distracted from the immorality of food production.

I agree we've been duped but we are naive and put trust in people who are basically trying to make money and they may be duped as well. And we are all trying to make a living so taking the time to put a lot of research into nutrition is also a challenge. I have friends who are into their eighties and are surprising me but they were still in the era when manufactured food was not as prevalent as today. I think we are going to see a rapid decline in health of those who were born later.

Yes, we are eating plastic when we eat fish. Dr. Mercola has a scary article about that. It's pulverized plastic. UGH

One striking observation was when he said most people maybe in the US are very low in some nutrient that had about six syllables and the kiwi fruit, especially the skin has a good supply of it.

Yes my ears pricked up at that ....... And that ghastly Named pesticide, Round Up, reared it’s ugly head in the programme.

I thought that was interesting too, Heloise. What I understood him to say is that kiwi fiber increases Faecalibacterium prausnitzii, an important bacteria that makes up 5-7% of the microbiome. Deficiency is associated with colitis, Crone's and colon cancer. I think I'll add kiwis to my shopping list. :)

So people avoid wheat because of gluten but OATS have more of the glyphosate in it because it is absorbed more easily. The corporations are so wealthy that now it doesn't even matter if the truth comes out. Who can taken them on???
