Your Having a Laugh!

I put a post on the PA forum today, relating to my B12 blood test results (I also had TSH taken). The Healthcare Assistant asked me how I caught autoimmune disease!

Quite a few people on the PA forum found it funny - so I thought I would give the lovely people on the Thyroid UK forum a laugh too!

She might not have the greatest understanding, but I'm sure her heart is in the right place. Her left foot. :-)

The clue is in the auto bit of auto immune-obviously self-inflicted!LOL

Oh, Naomi8, that is way to clever for anyone that works at my GP practice, they would think that auto was referring to my car!

I see she's a Health Care Assistant not sure if they need qualifications for that job! Still no excuse, I thought it was funny though.

Hi Valjo,

In every other practice that I have been with it has always been a nurse that takes blood tests, I always thought that HCA's worked in care homes - but what do I know.

Yes, it is funny and still making me and everyone I tell laugh - but it is funny and scarey at the same time.

From eating bread and cakes, obviously - that should put the wind up her!

Hi Angel_of_the_North

Yes, "who eat all the pies?" - "oops, must have been me because I have auto immune disease!"

I wonder if she thought it was related to acquired immunodeficiency syndrome. Or is that giving her too much credit?

Another post on the PA forum that had me putting my head in my hands was regarding a GP's receptionist who asked a PA sufferer why they were so concerned about a reduction in the frequency of B12 shots, as 'it's only a vitamin'.

Is there any hope?
