GP and DHEA

So I saw the doctor this morning told him I had had a saliva test and that my DHEA and cortisol levels are very low he replied he didn't know what DHEA is, so I asked if he knew about addisons he said yes then looked it up? Lol he has agreed to do the cortisol blood test at 8.40 on Thursday but of course wants my TSH testing also or he thinks it's.more likely diabetes? Oh and when I suggested I'm a little young at 44 to be in the menopause his reply was no your not the average age is 51?!?! Lol

I hope your GP takes this seriously.

Your posts have gotten me thinking about Adrenal tests so took the plunge and ordered today and since I 'm peri-menopausal (seems like it's been forever, no one told me it starts well before they stop!) I've got one with sex hormones as well.
