My dhea on Genova’s saliva test is very low- .11 on ref range .25-2.22 Doctors includingendo seem utterly uninterested.

Does anyone know what it could indicate and why they are so dismissive? Thank you, ginny

Dr Myhill discusses adrenal test results that include cortisol and DHEA here

drmyhill.co.uk/wiki/Adrenal...

You should be able to find out what low DHEA means with whatever your level of cortisol is.

I’m sorry, I feel very unwell today- couldn’t understand dr Myhill. How can I show my result form here so that you can see it?

Yes, it's OK.

That looks like Dr P's comments.

The report says your samples were collected outside the recommended time periods. How much difference was there?

Your Sample 2 is very high. Something causing stress around this time? That needs addressing. What has been suggested?

What did Dr P say about your low DHEA?

He is the one who should be suggesting what to take to lower that spike of cortisol and increasing your DHEA level.

**Actually, I've just seen the top of your report, it is Dr P but your test was done 8 months ago and those results may not be relevant now.

I would also remove or cover up your personal details as identity theft on the internet is rife, you have your name and date of birth showing there.

Yes, it is old, but I’ve been too ill to work for a while.

Dr P didn’t mention the dhea, just that t3&t4 were low.

At our consultation, he thought my adrenal output would be low, but it turned out to be just odd. He suggested adrenavive, but I tried it twice and was violently sick with hideous abdo pains both times. With the help of this great forum, I worked out that it is Sheehan’s Syndrome from a nearly fatal haemorrhage 25 year’s ago i. e. central hypo, so back to the nhs, but refused test on cost grounds. Was on Levo since March, stopped on their instructions , now in a very bad way with pain, nausea and fainting.

What a mess! Hellish pain in kidneys/ adrenal glands. Think possibly adrenal insufficiency

Re spike- I do remember the day, because I found it very hard to produce that much spit, but nothing out of the ordinary happened, and I have bouts of tachycardia too, without causal stress. I think it is something, but don’t know what x

What does a low dhea cortisol ratio mean? Thanks!

This is an indicator of metabolic syndrome. This syndrome links high blood pressure, low HDL cholesterol (the good kind) and tendency to diabetes.

Thanks-I’ll look it up. The cholesterol thing is true, and my bp is all over the place.

If you click on More at the bottom of your post you can select Edit.

You should remove your name and Date of Birth from the picture.

The best way of achieving this is to take a new photo making sure they don't appear, then Edit your post, remove the old picture link and upload your photo without your personal details. Then Post again and check it looks how you want it to.
