supplements and vitamins

I am taking a low dose of T3 only and split the dose so I take it 4 times a day. I am also taking supplements, minerals and vitamins and have become confused as to when to take what. I know that certain supplements or vitamins should not be taken together but my knowledge is a bit fragmented. I know I should not take Q10 with vit E and should not take vit D at the same time as vit K but I would appreciate a source laying out how to take vitamins and supplements so that they do not clash with each other or with thyroid meds (NDT, T3 and thyroxine). any idea where could I find this information so I could have it to hand and refer to it - as I am likely to forget otherwise.

Not sure such a thing exists - not sure it's even possible to have such a resource. And really not sure it's possible to carry it out when taking T3 four times a day. Why four times a day? That is likely to be counter-productive if you're taking a low dose, because there won't be enough at any given time to flood the receptors.

But, as a rough guide :

* Iron should be taken two hours away from everything - food, vitamins, other minerals, everything - and four hours away from thyroid hormone.

* Vit D should be taken four hours away from thyroid hormone. And also calcium, in the unlikely event that you need to take that.

* For best results, magnesium should be taken six hours away from thyroid hormone, but at least four hours.

* All other supplements should be taken at least two hours away from thyroid hormone.

* Vitamins are best taken in the morning, and minerals in the afternoon/evening.

* Vit c can be taken any time and with everything and anything, because it helps absorption rather than blocking it.

Aha Greygoose (and please excuse me Caze for interrupting your thread) thank-you (yet again!) for this helpful post - I did not know to leave 2 hours between supplements and thyroid meds.
