Addenbrookes Endocrinologists?

Hi all, does anyone have experience of Addenbrookes endocrinologists. My GP is going to refer me. I could choose somewhere else, but Addenbrookes is close by and I have had excellent care there for other conditions. I have Hashimotos and have not been doing so well on T4 alone. Please PM me if you have any comments or suggestions. Thanks.

Hi Girtonian

I have been under Chatterjee for about 3 yrs now and though at first it looked like I was getting somewhere he only wanted to Prescribe me the one off the shelf meds Levothyroxine, which I was having a rraction to. I asked about a natural form of medication and though he’s supposed to be a professor his limit on advise was narrow.

I asked about trying Armour and he said he doesn’t have much knowledge of this tablet to which I asked if I’m having a bad reaction to the meds I’m on there should be an alternative.!!!!

Well he reluctantly put me on Armour starting low with regular bloods to increasing to 3 grain. Which I now have to to get privately as the NHS won’t do that on prescription and I’ve not been asked back for bloods in well over a yr. I recently had bloods locally just to see how it’s going but been getting lots of headaches recently ...... not sure what to do now either.

But alas if you’re taking off the shelf meds he may be good for you .

Have they said who you may see ??

Also waiting time to see him always goes way beyond the app time too !!!

Let me know how you get on !!!!
