Thanks for your time in advance. I'm a female who has been dealing with Hashimotos for a year. I've gotten about 50% better but have completely plateaued. One thing I've encountered is zero libido. I know that's typical, but I read an interesting article about how thyroxine can interfere with estrogen receptor sites. Essentially, I've had the sort of opposite experience from most, in that I've felt like I've had low estrogen since starting thyroid medication. I've begun to successflly convert to t3, so I only need Tirosint at the moment (t3 made me worse off in the end with more adrenal problems, etc).
Basically, have any women here experienced low estrogen symptoms on their thyroxine? Instead of estrogen dominance?
I skipped my thyroid for a day and had a day with a regular libido for the first time in 1.5 years...I thought that was interesting.
Again, thank you!!!

Hi, ive had an increase in breast size which could be a sign of progesterone dominance. My skin has been hit hard since taking levothyroxine, wrinkling, thinning and sagging which may well be low estrogen. My adrenals were not addressed or checked so I'm assuming that's why. I asked for them to be checked but told them ok, when I asked for print out at reception was told I hadn't had them checked.
When I was admitted for suspected stroke a couple of years ago the specialists said I need to be on steroids but hospital would not prescribe them and put me on statins instead crazy I know.
Stress causes the reduction in essential sex hormones. I have had no libido for years.
