Foxyeyes,
150mg ThyroGold is equivalent to 1.5 grains NDT. Not sure how you'll get the equivalent of 2 grains.
Thyro-gold comes in capsules that you can split open, take out some, and put capsule together again. I don't know if you've read the three chapters from Dr Lowe so I'll give you a link. Dr Lowe was an Adviser to Thyroiduk.org.uk before his untimely death. Three chapters at the top of the page on the following link. They are helpful chapters to help you recover from symptoms.

This is also a past post but you can contact Tammy Lowe (widow) if you need confirmation about postal charges etc.
Thanks shaws will have a look at the link thanks for your quick reply
I tried it for the last few months. It came fast and the communication was brilliant. I very very slowly went downhill, I kept making excuses for how I felt (all this rain, its cold, think I am getting a bug) but realised I was not doing so well as I was on WP. Not to say it wont suit you though.
I went downhill fast on Thyro-Gold. It also took a long time to arrive, & I had issues getting a reply from Tammy Lowe.
thanks serenfach but as I cannot get WP I am going to have to change anyway hope it suit's me though
NT is available. I found this ok, & just a tiny bit weaker than WP.
is this Nature Throid ?
Yes. I found 1 1/4 grains of NT about the same strength as 1 grain of WP, but that's just me. If no WP arrives on sale by the end of this month, I'll be buying NT instead.
Have you tried Nature Throid? I bought some last weekend from Canada and it has arrived today. Got stung an extra £15 for customs tgough 😑
Can you send me a message to let me know where you bought it from, please Helena877 ? Just wondering if it's cheaper than my current supplier.
Have Really enjoyed these posts. ThyroGold has had so much written about - along with Dr. Lowe. It is so tempting for me personally to be free of the need to beg Drs to write a script for the kind of medicine that makes me feel better. I switched from Armour to NT a couple of years ago - I can’t really tell the difference.
One mistake I made recently was to inadvertently reduce the amount of selenium that makes my particular metabolizing of T-4 / T-3 work better. I realized how much the selenium was doing and quickly corrected the mistake. I’m vaguely aware of the difference in formularies between NT, Armour and ThyroGold. But it’s a good guess that they have some similarities (I realize TG is of bovine and that Armour is of porcine). A wonderful Dr treating Hashimoto’s here in the states mentioned once that many people have trouble with T4 / T3 conversion and that it was a digestive issue primarily. I believe that selenium plays a part in the metabolizing / digestion of all three of these medicines. That most people with Hashimoto’s have a stomach acid / digestive enzyme deficiency - perhaps greatly so! And that these digestive needs continue to fluctuate, influenced for better or worse as we age, as we become exposed to various viruses, changes in diet. Etc. I’m convinced that Hashimoto’s patients must monitore stomach digestive acids and take the appropriate supplemental enzymes / acids in order for any of the above mentioned medicines to work at their highest efficacy.
Hi thanks for your reply I have done some research these last few days looked at reviews of
NT and ThyroGold and have found that there is for and against for both of them have found it very interesting but at the end of the day you have to make a choice I do supplement with selenium and stomach digestives acids and I do agree with you that we have to monitor things because our GPs are not going to and its thanks to this site that we know so much more than our GPs about this illness
I have not heard anything against NT it TG - would you care to share a few of the cons? I do agree with the idea that HU is a super great learning resource.
