hi i'm currently on 60 mg neomercazole and breastfeeding but i only breastfed once a day 12 hours after i have drank my pills i just want to know if it has any effect on my 5 month old dd(dear daughter) i have graves disease and proptosis which soon i'm going for my surgery i just wanna know if the is someone who has breastfed on a high dosage and what effect is has on my lil one .t4 52.0 tsh 00.1

Ladytmsk1,

Carbimazole can pass through the placenta and through breast milk so pregnant women are usually switched to Propythiouracil (PTU) in the UK. If, for some reason, the woman has to take Carbimazole I believe the infant is given regular blood tests to check s/he has not become hypothyroid.
