I don't think you can get T3 in Spain - not OTC, anyway. Besides, it's not T3 your want. Your T3 seems to be quite good for someone not on thyroid hormone replacement. It's your T4 that is low. And, of course, your TSH is too high, so you are hypo.
But, before doing anything, you ought to raise your ferritin, B12 and vit D, because you are deficient in those, and your doctor ought to be prescribing something for you. Having nutritional deficiencies will cause a lot of symptoms, and will certainly make you very tired.
You say you're taking B12 and D3, but how much? And kelp really isn't the right thing for you to take. It contains a high level of iodine, and iodine is anti-thyroid, and is probably making you worse.
Thankyou very Much for your reply,I was advised by a staff member in Holland & barret to take the seakelp the dosage on that is 15mg,vd3 is 1,000i.u,b12 1000yg.i will stop taking the kelp then 😏.do you no what I could ask my doctor to prescribe me at all?because my doctors seem to be useless & un interested in how I feel.
Do you think it's worth asking to have b12 injections regular?X
Never take advice from staff at Holland and Barrett! They don't know anything about it and frequently give the wrong advice. The sea kelp as probably messed up your results, so if I were you, I'd wait a while to see how you feel without it before doing anything else, then get your TSH tested again.
I think you should ask your doctor to test you for Pernicious Anemia before anything else - how long have you been taking the 1000 mcg? It really isn't a good idea to take anything without proper advice because if your doctor now wants to do his own test for B12 and vit D, they will be skewed/not as low as they were. The vit D dose you're taking, is not enough to raise your level. You need loading doses.
Talk to your current or new doctor about increasing your B12 and Vitamin D dosages. It seems to me from looking at your test results that you are hypo and that you will benefit from a thyroid medication such as Synthroid or similar. I would advise you not to take the Kelp because it can aggravate the hypo condition. Since your doctor seems to be ignoring the test results, get a second opinion from another medical professional.
Sorry I can't read the results well, but looks like your personal details are visible on your test results. It's best not to post these for your own safety, only the results & lab ranges.
Holland & Barrett have sales staff, & won't know much about thyroid help, though lots of people on here do. Good luck!
Hi what exact test did you get done at Blue Horizon as I am unsure which of their advertised ones to take? Sorry, it's not a response but we do learn from each other on this site so I hope you don't mind my asking.
There are more expensive tests that include Reverse T3, but it is only necessary to get tested for Reverse T3 if you don't improve after optimising your thyroid and nutrients, and making changes to diet to reduce gut inflammation.
