The thyroid levels are euthyroid (normal). TSH is low-normal, FT4 more than half way through range and FT3 is low in range. I'm surprised you were prescribed NDT. Do you feel better for taking it?
Ferritin is optimal halfway through range. You can raise ferritin by supplementing iron with 1,000mg vitamin C to aid absorption and minimise constipation. Iron must be taken 4 hours away from NDT.
I haven't taken it as my dr said they taking VD3 and VB12 may help with my sluggish thyroid.
My VD is 40 (range insufficient <20 - suboptimal 20-29 - optimal 30-100)
My B12 is 657 (range is 200-950)
I feel fine now that I've started only talking the vitamin and have also changes my diet. I am on a gluten free diet and also try to stay away from soy products.
I eat more protein items as well as curtain vegetables and fruits.
Do I have a thyroid issue or am I just needing vitamin supplements and should I also take iron and Vitamin C?
I don't understand what your physician means by 'sluggish' thyroid. As I said, your results are euthyroid although FT3 is on the low side and you don't appear to have a thyroid issue.
Good levels of vitD can certainly aid T4 to T3 conversion. I believe 40-60ng/ml is optimal so you could supplement 5,000iu D3 for 4-6 weeks then reduce to 5,000iu alternate days and retest in March.
B12 >500 is very unlikely to be deficient and doesn't, in my opinion, require supplementing.
As I said, iron taken with vitC will raise ferritin.
