As there's nothing in your profile, can you share your thyroid story with us?
Members are more likely to share their source of supply when we know a little about a new member. If you post your latest TSH, FT4 and FT3 results, all done at the same time, then suggestions can be made as to whether your Levo needs adjusting when you add T3.
What thyroid meds do you take at the moment?
Do you have thyroid antibodies?
Have you had vitamins and minerals tested, if so what are the results and are you supplementing.
We find lots of new members asking the same question as you actually have other problems that need sorting before adding T3.
Hey sure sorry
Iv been on levothyroxine since 2012 n saw the endo in may and he recommended t3 so I’ve been on t3 since june and I’ve seen massive improvements in my symptoms but my doctor rang me and shes been told by the health board she cant prescribe it anymore n has to switch me back, which I really don’t want to do.
TBelly,
Are you in Scotland?
I am yes
TBelly,
Okay, CCGs are NHS England's version of Health Boards. I don't know whether NHS Scotland differs but it may be worth you using the information below to see whether you can use it to persuade your GP to reinstate T3. Elaine Smith MSP is actively trying to improve thyroid treatment via the Scottish Parliament so it may be worth contacting her for support.
I would write to your GP (cc your MSP) and tell your GP that you don't believe the Health Board has the authority to tell GPs what not to prescribe and you believe your GP is in breach of GMS contract by with-drawing treatment you have been told you need and have benefitted from. Say you have been well on Liothyronine and wish to continue taking it. Attach the BTA guidance for patients and GPs.
The BTA issued guidance that patients doing well on T3 should not have their prescriptions with-drawn. See FAQS for patients and GPs in british-thyroid-association...
CCGs do not have the authority to tell GPs what not to prescribe. Individual GPs, not CCGs, could be found in breach of the General Medical Services contract if they do not prescribe treatment patients have been told "they need".

The GPC has warned that GPs would be in breach of the GMS contract and could get into legal trouble by following the orders and refusing to prescribe patients treatments they have told them they need.

CCGs are expected to do impact consultations with the public and stakeholders before implementing change. Failure to do so leaves them open to legal challenge so check whether your Health Board did an impact consultation before advising your GP to withdraw T3.
