Have read your previous posts and replies and cannot see your results with ranges. It's difficult to help without them - we would only be wildly guessing - so not good. You need a good level of FT3 - also B12 - Folate - Ferritin - VitD to help fatigue ...

Hi thanks, my doc said all good and I checked they were in range, if I can find them will try and post them

"in range'' isn't good enough, they need to be optimum 🙂

Dont know how to upload says TSH 0.64miu/L - (0.27-4.2)

Yes you posted that result 8 months ago and it was explained to you that it did not mean much on it's own - more results are needed - FT4 & FT3 also anti-bodies. Vitamin and mineral results ? When Doc says fine s/he means in range BUT it is WHERE you are in the range that is key. 😊

Joad, on this forum we have to reply by clicking on the blue 'Reply' button under the comment we're replying to. Otherwise, the poster will not be notified. :)

Marz : I've notified her by putting @ in front of her name, then clicking on her name in the menu that pops that. That way she is notified. :)

Yes you mentioned Private Testing in one of your earlier posts. 😊

You will need to get bloods tested 6-8 weeks after any dose change

For full Thyroid evaluation you need TSH, FT4 and FT3 plus both TPO and TG thyroid antibodies tested. Also extremely important to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12

Low vitamin levels are extremely common, especially if Thyroid antibodies are raised

Have you ever had both TPO and TG thyroid antibodies tested?

Recommended on here that all thyroid blood tests should ideally be done as early as possible in morning and fasting. This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip, best not mentioned to GP or phlebotomist)

Last Levothyroxine dose should be 24 hours prior to test, (taking delayed dose immediately after blood draw).

Is this how you do your tests?

Private tests are available. Thousands on here forced to do this as NHS often refuses to test FT3 or antibodies or all vitamins

thyroiduk.org.uk/tuk/testin...

Medichecks Thyroid plus ultra vitamin or Blue Horizon Thyroid plus eleven are the most popular choice. DIY finger prick test or option to pay extra for private blood draw. Both companies often have special offers, Medichecks usually have offers on Thursdays, Blue Horizon its more random

I have blood test booked this friday with doc

Push GP to include vitamins and FT4 and FT3 plus antibodies (if antibodies have never been tested)

Unlikely to get them all tested on NHS, but always worth asking

Hi

My old gp was great the combined new surgery I am in is awful. They won’t even prescribe meds for pain relief or skin conditions. Thyroid meds max tends to be 100mcg. T3 they don’t recognise. Hence every one in my area goes it alone.

It’s is not cheap but you need to have a full panel of blood tests ( mentioned above) that I really doubt your gp will do. I can only say I was v shocked how low mine were. When I asked for medical records I found out my Vit d was 0 as was my b12 and t3. They had known about them for years and nothing had been said to me. ( just oh all normal)

Basically what I am saying is you have to be in control of your own health that way you can make adjustments.

Www.drmyhill.co.uk and search under orchestra on the home page in the search engine.

It’s a great read on how to obtain good health. You need a basal thermometer that costs only £6.

She advocates in this order you address things:-

Diet ( gluten dairy and sugar free)

absorbtion ( Slowdragon has some great tips and a comprehensive stool analysis is v v beneficial.

Vitamins

Then thyroid and adrenals meds.

Good luck I hope you manage to get all the results you need to help you improve your health.

Try your local Pharmacy first, I got a really good digital one in my local Chemist for under £5

I have several digital. I used to have a proper Mercury one and I tested each digital against it but one day I didn't put it away and never seen it since. As it can't find it anywhere I reckon my cleaner broke it and hasn't said. That's several years ago and still no sign or even a broken one!

Well, I've got a very old mercury one and I haven't tested it against my new digital one simply because I can never get the d*mn thing to go down without making my arm ache 😀

I bought a digital one for the sheep as I did not fancy sharing my mercury one after it had been inserted in the back end of a sheep. I find myself shaking down the digital one every time...

Hi

I usually get a basal one off my specialist as it’s £6.

They do them on amazon ( or did last I looked) Also children’s ones are good. Just not mercury.
