@greygoose @seasidesusie and others I was taking a D3 (1000 iu X2) daily until recently. I recently found a very similar in size D3 which was 2000 iu; and was much cheaper from a good shop. I bought it thinking it's not only cheaper but also that I will need to take only 1.
Just noticed on the bottle that the bulking agent is Soyabean oil. In my previous one it was olive oil.
Do you think it's better to have one in olive oil or does it not matter?
Thank you

I think it was Jarrows who used to use soyabean oil in one of their products (can't remember which one now) and I found some sites selling the same product and it said olive oil. I contacted them and they responded saying they had changed over to olive oil and those sites selling the product containing the soyabean oil were using up old stock, and new shipments would be the new reformulated product including olive oil.
Definitely bin it as some supplements don't actually have the amount of vitamin D3 stated on them as in the container. The amount of active ingredient in food supplements doesn't have to be as accurate unlike medicines. I found Kirkland not only had cr*p in it, but I ended up insufficient after taking them for a couple of months one summer.
That is shocking that some supplements don't contain the actual amounts stated! Would thought that would be something for the Trading Standards! How would we know if we were 'Short Changed' as most of us don't always have symptoms of deficiencies? Manufactures could 'rob us blind'!!!!
I had ran out of Vit D3 the other day and had to quickly buy Solgar's locally - I knew it wasn't ideal, don't tell me that's a useless one as well?
They are ok for some products. I personally don't use them often as not an ethical brand. Also they don't contain any oils as a bulking agent in the D3.
I thought you were asking about D3 originally. Are you now asking about K2-MK7 as well? If so, your link doesn't show all the ingredients so you don't know what oil is in that one they are advertising and supplying.
If you look at the same product on BigVits, under Supplement Facts bigvits.co.uk/product.php?p... then they list the ingredients and it states olive oil.
I think when I was enquiring before, it was BigVits who I contacted (after communicating with Jarrow)) to see if their supply contained soy oil or olive oil and they very kindly checked for me and said their current stock contained soy oil and expected their next delivery to be the new formulation. I doubt if Amazon would offer that level of customer service.
I haven't used it, I couldn't get the olive oil version when I was buying mine, but it's a good brand. Personally, I wouldn't buy it from Amazon because you don't know if theirs is the new formula with olive oil and they're unlikely to check their stock for you. I'd buy it from BigVits, they're showing the ingredients as containing olive oil.
You might want to check out the Vit A content and decide if it's suitable for you. Vit A is easy to get through diet, especially if you eat liver in some form, so you don't want to overdo it, you may want to research. I am happy with that amount because I have a lung disease and Vit A is supposed to be helpful.
Any oil that's not soya oil. I would say extra virgin olive oil is preferable as it's probably not as refined as the others, but we choose what's best for us as an individual and for me I want the other cofactors that D3 Complete brings so I accept the palm oil, might not be everyone's choice though.
