Your results are severely deficient and that is why you are suffering pins and needles, joint pain, heavy periods and tiredness in addition to your hypothyroid diagnosis.
Has your GP seen the results and what has GP prescribed?
You should write to the practice manager to make a formal complaint. Please see another GP at the practice or change GP practice.
Vitamin D 21.1 is severely deficient and 800iu is totally insufficient to treat deficiency. 800iu is a maintenance dose to be prescribed once deficiency is corrected. Your GP should refer to local guidelines or the NICE CKS recommendations for treating vitamin D deficient adults cks.nice.org.uk/vitamin-d-d... My GP prescribed 40,000iu daily x 14 followed by 2,000iu daily x 8 weeks which raised vitD from <10 to 107. Vitamin D should be taken 4 hours away from Levothyroxine.
Ferritin 15 is deficient and this may indicate iron deficiency anaemia. Your GP should do an iron panel and full blood count to check. If you are prescribed iron it should be taken 4 hours away from Levothyroxine.
B12 is deficient. Your GP should check intrinsic factor to rule out pernicious anaemia and initiate B12 injections. Please go to healthunlocked.com/pasoc who are the experts on B12 and folate deficiency.
Folate is deficient. 5mg folic acid should be prescribed 48 hours after B12 injections are initiated.
These results are dire, I felt terrible when mine were low and they were no where as low as these. My doctor gave me 800 ugh vitamin d and 18 months later there was no improvement..after seeing a health advisor I bought vitamin d over counter and took 10000 a day only then did my results rise.............I also bought the b12 and other b vitamins over counter and started self treating with what I'd learnt on this site. Only then did my health improve........gps are not very well trained on vitamin deficiencies and pass over them. It took me 65 years to learn doctors do not know everything and we must take responsibility for our own health when we can.
