If you post the results, with their reference ranges, members will be able to comment.
ok will do serum TSH level [KNOW5197] normal 0.48 mu/L 0.20 -4.00mu/L thats all it says
OK, so your TSH is in a good place but that doesn't give the full picture. You also need FT4 to see how much thyroid hormone there is, and FT3 to see how well T4 is converting to T3.
Unfortunately, it appears that as long as TSH is in range, the others don't get done now.
If your GP can't or won't do the other tests, you can do them privately with a fingerprick test at home which lots of here do.
You also really need to know your nutrient levels because unless they're optimal thyroid hormone can't work properly and conversion can be affected. Have you had the following tested:
Vit D
B12
Folate
Ferritin
Have you ever had thyroid antibodies tested?
You can get everything done, full thyroid panel, both types of antibodies plus vitamins and minerals here
thanks susie i did have a full blood test done 2 years ago due to other problems i was having at that time im not sure if all the things you listed were checked ,. results came back as normal, never heard of thyroid antibodies before but hey im here to learn mynext move is to get the blood test done , i will pay private thanks for your reply
There's absolutely no reason why you should stop eating cabbage, broccoli and cauliflower. Unless they make you feel bad, of course. But, they won't harm your thyroid.
Eware of being told things are normal. It usually means they are in range but it's where in the range that is important. Always get a copy of any bloods tested and the ranges and then someone will comment. Often a GP can realise you need to supplement but then puts you on too low a dose!
