7 Keto DHEA

After 18 months of being back & forth to the GP & to the Endo I was diagnosed with CFS last week. A few of you may have seen the post.

So due to the 'we don't know what else to do with you' diagnosis I'm going to try & get to the bottom of this myself. I'm also considering writing to my GP explaining I do not think I have CFS, I have an UAT that I am treating with NDT & I would very much like it if they supported me by conducting 6 monthly blood tests. Although, I'm not sure how they'd react!

Apologies for digressing, what I wanted to ask was has anyone supplemented with 7 Keto DHEA?

I've been reading Dr Peatfields book & he mentions it as a good supplement to support adrenals.

I'm not sure if I have adrenal issues & I can't afford the saliva test at the minute (hubby's just been made redundant). I did have the cortisol blood test, taken at 9am - 603.89 (9am 120-620, Random 85-450) and a 24 hour urine test - 65 (<165). I'm aware that non of these are reliable but they seem to be at odds with each other, one showing close to top of the range & the other quite low.

I suppose what I'm asking is would it do any harm to supplement the DHEA anyway?

I'm on 2 1/4 grains of Thyriod S & 2400ug of B12 a day. Plus I started taking 2 pukka ashwaganda daily at the beginning of the week

Thanks for reading all that :-)

DHEA is a hormone. And, like all hormones, you need the right amount. Not too much and not too little. Just supplementing DHEA without testing is not a good idea.

Thanks greygoose, I suspected that would be the advice.

I'm clutching at straws now trying to feel myself again. The NDT has me almost there but I fell like there's something missing as I'm still quite tired all the time.

I’ve had some interesting results from using it . But I definitely got more irritated than usual this week. And I’m suffering with hip pain and sciatica so will try going without to see if it’s related. I’m on my 2nd bottle and understand it not to be a long term thing to take. I have felt energised and bright mentally taking it.
