16.5 pmol/L

9 - 19pmol/L . I have Lupus and Fibro and take folic acid and B12 among lots of other meds. Can someone tell me what these levels mean please? I am 100mg of Levo daily.

If your GP is anything like mine he/she will throw a hissy fit at your low TSH and want you to reduce your dose, your T4 is fine but you really need a T3 result as well.

OH okay thank you but they never test for my T3 levels. I wonder why?

It costs extra money. They have also been instructed that TSH and T4 is all that is required. Which most of us on this forum have found out is untrue as many have had very low T3 levels.

I'm very lucky that my surgery always test T3 but I know most don't. You can do finger prick Medichecks test that include T3.

If you have hypothyroidism and also been diagnosed as having Fibromyalgia. This is a link which might be helpful i.e. you need T3 added to T4. I know they aren't prescribing this in the UK but you can source your own. (I am not medically qualified and had undiagnosed hypo but now take T3 alone).

When you give blood results it is helpful if you also give the ranges. Ranges are important as labs differ in their machines and therefore ranges can be different and it makes it easier to comment.

Ask GP to test vitamin D and ferritin too. If these are too low they affect thyroid hormones

Do you know if you have Hashimoto's also called autoimmune thyroid disease (high thyroid antibodies) if you do, quite likely as you have lupus, another autoimmune disease

Changing to a strictly gluten free diet may help reduce symptoms.

Might find adding daily vitamin B complex helps keep the B vitamins in balance

Thank you for all of your replies! I am going to try and find out as much info as I can. Have had Levo in different quantities for 26years but have just gone along with what the doctor has or hasn't said all this time!
