Thryoid results interpretation welcome

A bit of background first- Im hypothyroid and have been since i was about 10, which is 40 years ago. I dont think i had my thyroid levels checked from 15, when i stopped seeing an endocrinologist, until i was 30, when i changed GP practice. Hopefully things have improved since then, but it does concern me that I may have been on the wrong dose for a long time.

Anyway, my current results are:

TSH 0.255 (range 0.27 - 4.20)

Free thyroxine 19.7 (12-22)

Total thyroxine 94.1 (59- 154)

Free T3 4.74 (3.1 - 6.8)

Thyroglobulin antibody <10 (0-115)

Thyroid Perioxidase Antibodies <9 (0-34)

I take these results to mean that IF ANYTHING I am on too high a dose of levothyroxine. Id be grateful for any advice

The key question here is 'how do you feel?'. If you are feeling well, then your results are good. Your T4 isn't too high, not at all. Everyone is a bit different and if those values represent your health being currently good, then there's nothing wrong with them. What is your Levo dose?

sorry for delay in replying, but ive been away. It's very difficult to say how i feel (as Ive always been hypothyroid) but i do always feel a little tired and lethargic. My current dose is 150mcg. It has been 175 previously.

Are you saying that because of your slightly under-range TSH? It means nothing. When you are on thyroid hormone replacement, the TSH is irrelevant unless it goes high.

Your FT4 is good, but your FT3 could be a little higher, if you don't feel well. You don't convert all that efficiently. So, my next step, if I were you, would be to get my nutrients tested : vit D, vit B12, folate and ferritin. You've been hypo for a long time, so they've had time to drop, and that will affect your conversion. :)
