Not surprising you're still having symptoms, because you're under-medicate. And you have Hashi's. You need your TSH suppressed, and your FT3 up the top of the range.

Are you on a gluten-free diet, to lower antibodies?

Hi not gluten free, GP testing me for coeliac

greygoose in reply to Amandajade

OK So, are you taking selenium?

Amandajade profile image
Amandajade in reply to greygoose

Yes, it looked low in range so I supplemented it

Selenium 0.93 (0.89 - 1.65)

Good, that should help lower antibodies, and help with conversion.

But, even if your coeliac test comes back negative, I would still advise trying gluten-free. Those tests are notoriously unreliable. And won't pick up on gluten sensitivity, anyway.

Have you had other nutrients tested?

I doubt that that's enough of anything to raise your levels. I, too, would suggest you read SeasideSusie's replies to others in your situation to see how much she recommends. :)

Amandajade I replied about your low ferritin and iron deficiency this morning on your other thread.

Vit D is recommended to be 100-150nmol/L according to the Vit D Council, so you still have a way to go. 6000iu seems to be a good dose so I would continue with that and retest in 3 months to check your level.

There are important cofactors needed when taking D3

vitamindcouncil.org/about-v...

D3 aids absorption of calcium from food and K2-MK7 directs the calcium to bones and teeth where it is needed and away from arteries and soft tissues where it can be deposited and cause problems.

D3 and K2 are fat soluble so should be taken with the fattiest meal of the day, D3 four hours away from thyroid meds.

Magnesium comes in different forms, check to see which would suit you best and as it's calming it's best taken in the evening, four hours away from thyroid meds

naturalnews.com/046401_magn...

Check out the other cofactors too.

Folate is deficient. Is there a reason you're only taking folic acid once a week? Normally it's daily.

Your B12 is low despite your injections. Some people say that 3 monthly injections isn't enough and top up in between.

You can get further advice about your folate and B12 on the Pernicious Anaemia Society forum healthunlocked.com/pasoc

Well only about 5% with Hashimoto's are coeliac, but over 80% benefit from being strictly gluten free, either due to gluten intolerance or leaky gut

Have you got date for endoscopy? If GP can't give a date, why bother waiting

Your vitamin levels are dire. Thyroid hormones can not work when vitamins are too low

See SeasideSusie detailed vitamin advice eg

Changing to a strictly gluten free diet may help reduce symptoms. Very, very many of us here find it really helps and can slowly lower antibodies.
