Hi ...I've been taking 2.5 grain ndt and my undermedication and over medication present with similar symptoms so struggle to know what's going on with me...anyways ..this week's bloodwork was 12 hr after last dose of ndt and was fasting ..
Tsh <0.005
T4 16.9 (12-22)
T3 8.08 (3.1-6.8)
should I stop ndt for a few days and then start up at a reduced amount ? .. or just reduce ..?...If so by how much ,and roughly how long should it take for T3 to come back down in range?. ..I wouldn't be too bothered but I feel shocking right now ,thanks

Thanks Clutter ...I last took levothyroxine about 15 month ago and was taking 100mcg .I will leave off medicating for a few days to speed up the process ..I'm tingling head to toe !!
Thanks .At 1.75 my t3 was only about half of range so i raised up to 2 grain as i still wasnt feeling good but thats when my tingling symptoms started (that nobody could really explain ) so i dropped back (if you remember my post (" little doses big changes" ) but I didnt improve so thought maybe it was undermedication and to get raising my dose ..obviously a big mistake .!
I was on 100/125 when I moved over to NDT. with the endo's help as I had gone over I stopped for a couple of days and was told to restart at 1.75 which as I'd got up to 3 grains I thought was too much to drop by though when I did realise I was over I did remember that in the way up I had felt better but couldn't remember when. But I was surprised to find I was spot on! I have always found since that when feeling not quite right to drop down first then if that was the right think to do you will feel better but if no change you probably needed to increase. So I would drop a little further to 1.75 and hold it there. If no hypo symptoms then think about leaving it there and retesting but if you have increasing hypo symptoms then raise by a quarter. I've found it's very similar being slightly over to being slightly under, the fine tuning is difficult but if not sure retest on the lower dose and take it from there.
Silverfox thanks for your advice...I didn't feel well on 1.75 so raised to 2 then felt little better in some ways but worse in others with alarming hairloss so dropped back for a bit and as i had been trying to monitor by temperature thought i cant be on enough as they still weren't optimal and as symptoms continued I thought i would ride the storm so to speak and raise up again ...obviously bad mistake !...Imagine that on my low 36's temperature I was actually overmedicated! ..thank god for private bloodwork! ...I will never monitor by temperatures again!..I haven't had any dose today or yesterday and then I'm going to drop right back to 1.75 again as at least I didn't have alarming hairloss at that dose and I'm desperate for it to stop!
