I’m hoping for your views. I’ve been taking 3 grains NDT and 6.25 T3 for 6 months now and feeling pretty good. Pulse 70, low blood pressure (normal for me). No sweating, no tremor, no insomnia etc.
I took dose of all daily thyroid 12 hours before my test. Got medichecks results attached in pic, alongside vitamin results.
From reading up I understand I need to reduce my Ft3 to be in range. So the added 6.25 of T3 needs to go, as well as some NDT.
My questions are, how much of a dose reduction of NDT would your experience suggest, and at what rate to reduce?
Many thanks!

OK, so you do need to reduce your FT3. But, if I were you, I would reduce by 1/4 NDT, rather than the T3, first. Because your FT4 is also on the high side. Stay on the reduced NDT for six weeks and then retest.
There's no way you can know how much a reduction will impact the blood test. But, you shouldn't reduce more than a 1/4 grain at a time, wait six weeks and see what happens. Same with T3. It's all trial and error to find the right dose.
So, reduce 1/4 grain NDT, now, and see what your levels are in six weeks.
Could you elaborate on that? I'd be interested to find out more as I have Hashi's and my FT3 levels are all over the place; sometimes midrange, sometimes over range, on same dose of NDT.
Hi AS, it wasn’t that way around. I started off on Throxine plus T3, then in summer, after calculating the equivalent dose I switched to NDT plus the tiny bit of T3. This was my first blood test since then. So I’m on the route to get the dose right, feel good and be in range for T3.😁
What sort of NDT are you on? If it is Armour 3 grains is a very large dose and should not need extra T3 on the side. I would just drop the extra T3 first then measure again, you might find that does it. If you drop the NDT at the same time you are introducing a conversion factor (of T4 to T3) into the equation which might mess up your conclusions from your tests. Just drop the extra T3 and see what you get.
Hi there, thanks for replying, I’m on thyroid-s. Funny you should say that, as I was pondering that approach yesterday as it feels more controlled for first step and without the unknowns of conversion. Thanks 😁
