Thought I'd share my reading with you

draxe.com/zinc-deficiency/

Adrenal fatigue is mentioned - so is leaky gut. But this interested me most :-

5. Thinning hair

A common complaint of people battling adrenal fatigue, zinc deficiency is associated with hypothyroidism, an overlooked cause of thinning hair and alopecia. (11) According to Indian researchers, thyroid hormones are essential for zinc absorption. Subsequently, hypothyroidism-caused hair loss may not improve with thyroxine unless zinc supplements are added. (11)

Thanks for posting, a timely reminder as to why I need to keep taking it!

Low zinc can cause miscarriage as well as hair loss. It's a good idea for anyone having problems to get their zinc tested.

Am I wrong in thinking that if zinc makes the immune system stronger, that those with auto immune disease ought to be careful not to take too much because it's our immune response that is damaging our bodies?

I might have completely misunderstood this, so I would be very grateful for thoughts.

We have to be aware of any supplements that we take, being mindful that most have safe limits. But improving our immune system doesnt increase auto immune attacks. As I understand it it is specific antibodies and not a whole body response that drives each auto immune disease. Lowering the immune system strength does not lower the antibodies.
