I just changed from taking my WP Thyroid, NDT by the same makers as Naturethroid, sublingually throughout the day at 2 grains total. I was not feeling great, and decided to change to the same dose and take it all in the am first thing w water as the manufacturer recommends. Around 1pm I feel like I'm sliding and need more med. I'm trying to figure out if I should be taking more in the am or whether I should add more later in the day. I was trying to wait a month and retest on that same dose to track how the way I changed taking it affected the test results. I just took another 1/2 grain because the 2 grains in the am just doesn't seem to be enough. Does anyone have any experience with this type of multi dosing by taking w water and what works? Has anyone changed from taking it sublingually to w water, and any insight that might help? Thx!

That might be a bit large for an increase but I think you can sense what your body may need. I take Naturethroid with water but take a T3 at another time. Did you hear that RLC may not be fulfilling orders due to equipment upgrades or something?
My pharmacist agreed it may be discontinued because of low sales. Everyone I know but me is on Levothyroxine. None of the drugstores have Naturethroid, it's hard to get anymore. I'm in the U.S. east coast.

There is a temporary shortage of NatureThroid and WP: stopthethyroidmadness.com/2...
I take an afternoon slump as a sign I'm undermedicated.
Are you making sure to take it on an empty stomach with plenty of water, & not eating for at least an hour, or taking supplements etc, for four hours?
Perhaps try adding a spoon of apple cider vinegar to your glas of water, or a pinch of vitamin C powder (ascorbic acid, not the type with additives) . If your stomach acid is low, this might help you digest your THs better.
I e always been told to swallow NDT with a full glass of water. Apparently the molecules in it are too large to ab absorbed under the tongue so for starters I would swallow with plenty of water to get it down to the right place to be absorbed and see how you get on with that method.
How long have you been taking NDT? It takes about 6 weeks for the dose to get into your cells, which is when you feel the benefit. Some people need to take a second dose later in the day. If you want to take it all at once in the morning, which is what I do, I would add a 1/4 grain in the morning rather than 1/2 and then hold it at that for a few weeks if you can. I always take mine with water on an empty stomach.
JMay88,
If you post recent thyroid results ad ranges we can see whether you are optimally dosed. The T3 and T4 molecules are too large to be absorbed sublingually and NDT is designed to be swallowed with water and absorbed via the gut.
