Good Afternoon All,
I have post thyroidectomy hypothyroidism and 2/3 months ago hit an all time low - I put this down partly to a change to Teva brand levothyroxine tablets but most likely undertreatment. My TSH 6 weeks ago was above reference range and a lot of my vitamins/minerals (D,B12, Folate etc) were also at the low end of their ranges. My levothyroxine dose was raised to 175mcg daily.
Compared to 6 weeks ago I feel like I've made a big improvement, not 100% but I feel a bit more alive- you all know what I mean. I've added B12, D and K2 supplements so far but would like to concentrate on my Thyroid levels at the moment as my GP has requested to see me.
Obviously my TSH level has flagged up below range and I have an appointment tomorrow to address this. I expect my doctor will want to lower my dose to correct my TSH level.
They have tested T3 to check conversion for the first time and they are as follows-
TSH - 0.07 miu/L (0.35-4.94)
FT4 - 20 pmol/L (9-20)
FT3 - 4.7 pmol/L (2.4-5.7)
After all of my research and reading - especially on here, I believe that these results are infact ideal and show good conversion, reflected by my improvement in symptoms and general wellbeing.
Please correct me if I am wrong but I believe that I need to continue this dose. I expect to see the doctor tomorrow and have to persuade and plead for him not to lower my dose.
Any advice or further interpretations would be very welcome.
