I'm have hypo and have been feeling unwell, and just wondered What would possible symptoms be if you had vitamin D deficiency? I've had blood tests just awaiting results.

Vitamin D
Rachael3000,
Typical vitD deficiency symptoms are bone pain and joint pain.
Thank you. I have this along with other symptoms, my drs are rubbish and take days to even look at blood tests results in the meantime I suffer
Vitamin D symptoms also include fatigue, muscle pain, hair loss, numbness, acne, skin problems and unspecific pain. This crosses over with iron and B vitamin deficiencies which is why you need to get a range of nutrients tested. You normally only get bone and joint pain plus difficulty walking when you are very deficient in vitamin D.
If you are symptomatic I'd ask GP for a new blood test to include TSH, T4, T3, Free T4, Free T3 and thyroid antibodies. B12, Vit D, iron, ferritin and folate as everything has to be optimal.
Blood tests have to be at the very earliest, fasting (you can drink water) and allow a gap of 24 hours from your last dose and the test and take afterwards.
Get a print-out of your results with the ranges and post on a new question.

Everything has to be optimal otherwise we can be symptomatic.
If GP wont do all of them, the ones he wont you can have privately and it might be worth it. We have recommended labs and they do home pin-prick tests and you make sure you are well hydrated a couple of days before and make sure hands are warm so blood is easier to draw.
I have had my results back today and the receptionist said my Vitamin D levels we're high and to stop taking any supplements. I'm not taking any supplements. Hoping to get a drs appointment Monday. Does anyone know what the course of action will be?
Depending on how high the results are in the absence of supplementation, the GP might want to test your calcium and PTH levels to check if there's something contributing to the high level.
From what I can gleen I have symptoms of high calcium but keep scaring myself because the word cancer keeps arising! I feel dreadful, and symptoms are only getting worse. I'm fed up of waiting for drs appointments, then awaiting bloods, and again booking in with the dr - has to be a quicker solution surely!
