Hi. I am starting chemo in a few days and would appreciate any advice/tips on avoiding/delaying hair loss. Recipes or food supplements that may help too?
Many thanks

Hi - I had chemo 2 years ago. Not all regimes cause hair loss, but if yours does then the only way to reduce is to use the cold cap during every session. Not sure if it is still online, but Victoria Derbyshire from BBC made a video diary of herself using it during breast cancer treatment recently. My chemo took 6 hours and I didn't fancy it for that long. I had short hair anyway but had it cut shorter in advance then shaved as loss started. I didn't want to do the hair on pillow and in plughole thing! Also I had a wig but hated it, just used a variety of scarves. I was dreading people staring, but no-one did and I was quite comfortable out & about. Looked a bit strange when I lost eyebrows & lashes as well lol! Be aware it usually grows back pure grey initially as colour takes a bit longer to recover.
Good luck with it and don't be afraid to ask medical staff for help in managing effects, they can do a lot these days.
It is only a short time and will pass.

Sorenpup,
Ask the hospital whether they have a cold cap you can use as this may help prevent hair loss. google.co.uk/search?q=Cold+...
Good luck!
Hi. Christine bamboo viscose headwear is really great. There are many many designs and they have 5% elastane just enough for them to stay put in the wind! This is the cheapest place I've found them simplywigs.co.uk/catalogue/... if you go for economy delivery at just 99p. Some places charge an extra fiver because it's mostly wigs they're shipping. You can get stick on eyebrows there, too.
Good luck
I don't have any tips bit wish you all the very best X
Sorry that I can't help you, but I hope that everything goes well for you.
