Morning temperature

Hi..I always take my temperature every morning at 6am and it's around 36-36.2 degrees and then take my ndt straight after...however a couple of hours later at 8am I take my temperature and its dropped to about 35.8 but then will begin to raise again as day goes on (dropping again when the times coming to take mid afternoon dose)..However if I have slept through 6am and not taken my dose of ndt and wake at 8am and take temperature it reads much better at 36.6 - 36.7 degrees so a much better reading than if I've taken my medication ...Can anyone explain why this is happening? Thanks

Adrenals are wobbling plus maybe too much NDT. Do you take adrenal support?

pink jess 17 I took adrenavive ll for 2 months or so(3mth ago) but after initially feeling slightly better went backwards with it so stopped and worked on vitamins recently instead which are all in a good place now ...it's funny what you say rgds too much as I've decided to drop a quarter grain as since this taking 2 grain over last 3wk my bowels are looser and I'm losing hair again ..I was confused though as I thought temperature would be high and show that??any thoughts appreciated thanks....btw do you think too much ndt can lower temperatures?

Definitely sounds adrenal related with temperature fluctuations and hair loss. How much Adrenavive were you taking? It is a very strong brand, less is definitely more, and you may only need 1 a day in the morning. Thorne cortex is weaker you can get that on iherb if you prefer. The adrenals are the master glands and very important to well being and will stop thyroid medication from working. Have you also done average temps 3 times a day to see if they are stable?

Yes I was taking one a day at first and then built up to 4 a day after speaking to the company where I purchased from...however there was ultimately no improvements in temperature being stable although i felt calmer and less stressed so I stopped and added vitamins. I have been taking my temperature 3times a day...it's usually 36.2 first thing...35.8 - 36.2 in afternoon and 35.8 last thing but recently bought more and thought perhaps I would try again ? The hairloss only started again over the last couple of weeks whereas those temperatures have been like that for a long time....my hair has been good for last couple of years ...the tingling face and scalp/hairloss/loose bowel as all come about a similar time to raising a quarter grain, I'm really getting fed up now ..I've been messing about with ndt dose for a year now and can't seem to get right !thanks

Those temperatures are low, were they oral? Do you have any adrenal saliva test results before taking the adrenal cortex? You may need much less NDT and more adrenal support, but slowly adding back in the Adrenavive low dose just in the am only until your temps, pulse and blood pressure stablise. Then increase the NDT if necessary. Your temps before taking NDT in a morning look much better so I'd go with tackling the adrenals as a priority.

pink jess I hear what you are saying ....I was taking 3grain at one point but still not optimal temperature wise so that's when I added the adrenal but also at same time I reduced ndt to one grain and concentrated more on the adrenavive but I felt very hypo and temperatures weren't really improving so I started raising up ndt again and ultimately stopped the adrenavive as I felt things were getting knowhere .I havn't done the adrenal testing but when I've done the eye/blood pressure /reflexes tests I'm not too bad it's just my temperatures. A synacthen test a couple of years ago shown a slight disfunction but nothing major and it didn't warrant steroids...Im beginning to wonder if I've always run at a more low temperature and maybe I'm chasing 37 degrees that I personally don't get up to ...in fact I believe many do not fully recover this optimal 37 due yo being ill for some time , and have no idea what I used to be before I became hypo/hashi.Btw those temperatures are oral yes .

Maybe you dropped the NDT too low last time. Showing an abnormality on a synacthen test is a big red flag. Most people pass that test even with dire adrenals so I would suspect they play a big part in this. My temperature has hit 36.9/37.0 at tumes with adrenal support, whereas it never was before but I'd on concentrate on how you feel mainly, but also pulse and blood pressure to guide you. If I take too cortex my blood pressure gets worse (lower) and temps drop, so too much of a good thing as they say.

Thanks Simba I've read the link but need it simplified really....am I do sumise that it could be connected to low salt/sodium?...My sodium and calcium are good (had them tested recently )..I just can't understand why my temperature at 8am is more optimal if I haven't taken ndt than at 8am if I have taken it (at 6am)....or have I missed the point? Thanks

Salt raises your basal metabolic rate and thus your morning temperature. As it is it is too low if you want optimal benefit from ndt. By eating more sugar and salt may help.

May be also is that you need more T3.

What do you recommend Simba 1992? ..some pink Himalayon salt at bedtime?

I got my basal rate increased and hypo symptoms decreased with Ray Peats diet. Worth looking into.👍🏻
