I am posting this as I am having a very hard time with my GP who doesn't think I have Hypothyroidism. I have had a private blood test done 2 weeks ago which I posted yesterday which confirms I have Thyroid disease. The GP repeated just the TSH, FT4 and the Peroxidase antibodies. Unfortunately my TSH had dropped back down to 2.69 {0.35-4.94}. Even though my antibodies are raised she told me my Thyroid just needs testing again in 6 months.
I am waiting for an appointment with an Endocrinologist at Royal Hallamshire Hospital Sheffield. I am wondering if anybody could recommend a good doctor to see there who hopefully might diagnose me with Hypothyroidism and start me on medication. I would be very grateful if anyone could send me a private message with a doctor you might recommend please.
Thank you for your help and support.

High antibodies means you have autoimmune thyroiditis (Hashimoto's) but NHS won't usually diagnose hypothyroidism and prescribe Levothyroxine until TSH is over range or FT4 below range.
There is no cure for Hashimoto's which causes 90% of hypothyroidism. Levothyroxine treatment is for the low thyroid levels it causes. Many people have found that 100% gluten-free diet is helpful in reducing Hashi flares, symptoms and eventually antibodies.
Thank you very much for that e-mail address I will send that off shortly. Hopefully I can get a diagnosis from the hospital. In the meantime I will read those links. Thanks.
