I have Highpo Thyroid

Everytime I'm always seeing my hair fall out and chunks it's a bit annoying and scary I have long long thick hair and I'm scared I'm going to go bald. Is there ways not just talking biotin vitamins I already know to take those, but is there any home remedies that actually work or any other store-brand shampoos and conditioners to keep my hair healthy and rolling along and help my hair follicles. And for those that may not know it hypothyroidism causes hair loss and dryness brittleness.. thanks ♡

You may not be adequately medicated. If your thyroid is correctly treated the hair loss should stop. Do you know your thyroid blood test results?

Besides being adequately treated for hypothyroidism, low ferritin and low zinc can be a cause of hair loss. Google hair loss, lots of information out there.

You're so right my Dr put me on Vitemins for low calcium and I'm supposed to be taking other vitamins also.

High or low cortisol will cause hair loss. Low stomach acid will prevent absorption of thyroid meds as well as vitamin supplements.

Do you have other symptoms besides hair loss?

What are your thyroid levels like? Do you have any recent blood tests for thyroid as well as vits, etc? How much thyroid meds are you taking and which ones and how long have you been taking them?

When you are hypo there are lots of things that can cause hair loss as being hypo will have a knock on effect on how well other things are going on with you.

Hi Rukia

Need to know thyroid blood test results with those figures in brackets as well. Also have you had anti body tests done - these would tell members if you have auto immune hypo.

If you have any other blood tests for vitamins i.e. D3, Ferritin, B12 and Folate would be useful.

Also let us know what meds for thyroid you are taking, for how long and what dose. Also any other medication you may be taking too.

Not what you're looking for?
