Replacing Levo

Hello!

I'm loving my experience with adding T3. Finally starting to feel normal! :D

So much so that I would love, in a near future, to drop T4 altogether and just take T3.

I'm currently taking 150mcg Levo + 12,5mcg Tiromel.

Any advise on this?

Thanl you so much!

Dalilafng You really need to see how things go. You may be fine on a combination of Levo/T3. I take a combination and when I was tweaking meds I found that reducing Levo below a certain dose brought back hypo symptoms, so I increased back to where it was before. It's obvious I need a certain amount of Levo along with my T3.

Dalilafng,

If you're feeling fabulous why change? Old adage: Don't fix what ain't broke!

Feeling good on T4+T3 doesn't mean you will feel better on T3 only. Still, if you are determined, 150mcg Levothyroxine is equivalent to 50mcg T3.

You are right!

It's just that I've been feelingo so bad for so long that it's almoust looking like a miracle this turnover.

But it's quite soon yet (a bit more than 2 weeks).

The other thing is that I think the dosage of Levo is too hight, and for years now... My GP en my Endo both refuse to test RT3... And I think that it's the levo that's been keeping me ganing weight...

Private RT3 blood teste is really very expensive here :(

What are your thoughts on that?

Dalilafng,

I think it's foolish to assume rT3 is high and change meds without testing to check.

Your FT4 was low in range so it seems unlikely rT3 is high. FT3 was below range and that is likely why you were gaining weight.
