I consulted with Doctor i.e. Medicine Specialist with my above report and she has prescribed me to take Thyronorm 50 mcg and come for review after three months.
Can you please tell me that the above medicine prescribed by my Doctor is apt for me and also suggest me what should I avoid eating. Please help me because I am very much worried. Your advise will surely help me to treat my thyroid disorder in a right way. Thank you.

It would be dangerous if it was ignored but not now that you have been prescribed Thyronorm. 50mcg is a starter dose and is unlikely to be sufficient to raise T4 sufficiently and bring down TSH. Ask your doctor to check your blood levels in 6 weeks, 3 months is too long to wait for a dose increase. You may need more than one dose increase over the next few months.
The goal of Levothyroxine is to restore the patient to euthyroid status. For most patients that will be when TSH is 0.35 - 1.0 with FT4 in the upper range. FT4 needs to be in the upper range in order that sufficient T3 is converted. Read Treatment Options in thyroiduk.org.uk/tuk/about_...
For maximum absorption Levothyroxine should be taken with water 1 hour before, or 2 hours after, food and drink, 2 hours away from other medication and supplements, and 4 hours away from calcium, iron, vitamin D supplements, magnesium and oestrogen.
It takes 7-10 days for Levothyroxine to be absorbed before it starts working and it will take up to six weeks to feel the full impact of the dose. Symptoms may lag behind good biochemistry by several months.
You should have a follow up thyroid test 6-8 weeks after starting Levothyroxine. Arrange an early morning and fasting (water only) blood draw when TSH is highest, and take Levothyroxine after your blood draw.
It's OK to start on 50 mcg although if you are under 60 they could have started you on 100 mcg. Three month reviews are fine once your dose has settled down but at this stage you really should have your first follow up in one month to get you closer to your final dose sooner. Once on a stable dose you can be monitored once a year. I'd ask your doctor for another blood test and consultation in a month's time, there's no point in delaying your recovery. It will take at least six months before you are fully recovered as the body takes time to heal.
Think it safer to start in 50 incase you have underlying conditions you don't know about. It should start to make it fall rapidly and then slow till you get it in range but your doctor should have told you to retest after 6 weeks to check what is happening and he may change things then if it's deemed necessary depending on your FT4 reading which needs to be in the top third of the range. Get into the habit of asked for your results and ranges so you can see what is happening and we can help you understand them. The ranges are important as they differ from lab to lab so without them we would be guessing.
