I was diagnosed with hashimotos nearly 7 years ago. It's always caused me issues, but now I've been diagnosed with fibromyalgia this year everything gets blamed on that.
I'd been told my thyroid blood test had gone to annually rather than monthly last year which I was happy about. However I had my bloods done last week as I've been off work 2 weeks now. My doctors said my thyroid levels were funny and that my dose had to go up by 25m a day. So now I'm taking 200mg a day and still feel fatigued to the point where I'm missing meals as I'm too tired to go downstairs and make food or eat anything.
My depression is getting worse due to an amount of issues with finance, possible new job and wanting to move out.
I feel like I'm never getting better or stable for longer than 6-18 months at a time and having the time off work makes me feel guilty and rubbish at what I do.
Needed to get it off my chest and felt this was a good place to do it.
Thanks for reading x

It seems much more likely to me that your fibromyalgia is actually a symptom or result of untreated Hashi's rather than a completely separate issue. There is a good chance that you are not a good converter from T4 to T3 (might be genetic and can be tested to confirm) as frankly is you are feeling fatigued so much on 200 mcg a day levothyroxine is not very likely to be working for you.
You might need now to really start educating yourself about your condition and another good link is Izabella Wentz's thyroidpharmacist.com and her books which stress the importance of finding your triggers for autoimmunity - gluten sensitivity and various deficiencies (and the whole intestinal permeability aka 'leaky gut') can be one of them as well as stress.
Even though it is very frustrating when things are not improving remember you are not alone and there is quite a lot you can actually do to change things - slowly and step by step - but the most important thing to keep in mind is to be good and gentle with yourself and make your health a priority. Best of luck!
